Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES: Trained as a teacher and looking for a chance to really have an impact on kids? We're looking for qualified professionals to provide personalized tutoring of school-age children (or adults). We provide referrals and active supervision. We offer flexible hours (after school, evenings, weekends).
NOTE: To apply for the postion, cover letter and resume required.This is a part-time Consultant position with no benefits. Hours may vary from 2 hours per week to 10 hours or more per week. Most work takes place at the Learning Lab @ Lesley, located in the Porter Exchange Building, next to the Porter T stop. No in-home tutoring.
Requirements:
Master's level preferred, but candidates must have at least a B.A. degree in education or related field (e.g., math or English for subject area specialists); the ideal candidate has considerable experience either working with children and/or adults with learning disabilities ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, etc. We are especially looking for applicants with certification and/or training in specialized approaches (e.g., Wilson, Orton-Gillingham, Reading Recovery, Project Read, LiPS, etc.). Also need staff to teach study/organizational skills to individuals or small groups.
