Job Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
 
Reporting to the Director of Recruitment, the successful candidate will recruit and select new BFA students for the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. She/he will travel locally and nationally to attend portfolio day programs and visit high schools and community colleges. This person will be responsible for meeting recruitment goals for a specified geographic territory. He/she will communicate actively with prospective students through email and telephone contacts. This person will help identify high schools and community colleges with strong art departments and will develop collaborative relationships with art teachers and school counselors. She/he will conduct portfolio reviews and interview students on and off campus. This person will review applications for admission as a member of AIB's Admission Committee. He/she will serve as "Applicant Advocate" to select students applying to AIB to communicate about application status, to facilitate connections to members of the AIB community and to answer general questions. This person will help to plan and will attend Admission Office on-campus recruitment events.

Requirements:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:  
 
A Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree, a Bachelor's Degree in Art or a Bachelor's degree in another field with a corresponding strong art background are required. Strong interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills; an interest in counseling and teaching high school and transfer students; energy, enthusiasm and humor are all required. Candidates must possess organizational, time-management and decision-making skills; and must be able to work independently. Successful candidates must be willing and able to travel. Working knowledge of MS Office-based programs, spreadsheet, and database management systems (i.e., Colleague/Datatel) software is desirable. Knowledge of art school admission office work, the art school environment and careers in the visual arts is also desired.
